I'm home for a few days between my two China trips and wanted to post a couple of the images from the sightseeing day to the Great Wall and Summer Palace. It's such an incredible feeling to see these places with so much history. I different kind of feeling of history and time than when I was in Berlin last year. Berlin was recent history that changed the world and there are people alive now that went through that history. The places I visited in China are so old that it's just stories about what really happened since there was no other way to document that period in time. Some places felt like they had been maintained just as they had always looked and felt but some of the locations just gave off an eerie feeling that something really bad had happened there at one point in time.
After posting these pictures I realized I need to change the layout of this page. Sorry the images are so small, I'll try to find time to make the changes I want on here for bigger pics.

I'm getting a little time to work on my photography. I just got some new stuff for Christmas that I'm excited to try out like a soft box & light stand for my Q-flash. Tiff, Tanner and I went to visit Tiff's sister in Tahoe back in November and the weather cooperated while we were there. I was still on east coast time and ended waking up early most days so I'd go for a walk in the woods. Here are a few shots from those walks. The photograph with the large burst from the sun is my first try at an HDR image, there are some obvious problems but I'm interested to see what the images will look like with some real prep.

I shot these two photographs with my new 50mm lens. I love how sharp this new lens is. I played with the shallow depth of field as well. The distance from the red leaves and the green ones behind them is only an inch or two but the green leaves are really quite blurry. I'm looking forward to shooting in Tahoe next week. I'm not worried about my lens breaking again, I'm just looking forward to spending time with my family and capturing some images around the lake. I'm hoping for some nice weather and good opportunities to shoot.

I have been out shooting quite a bit but haven't had much time to post my images on here. I've shot a few that I've had printed and hung up in my own house but really only have time on flights to edit images. Tanner keeps me pretty busy with trying to keep up with him and watching him grow everyday. I've been riding as much as I can since my collarbone feels good enough to allow me about an hour or two of riding each session. Here are a few images from the last few months. On a recent trip my 50mm lens died, sucks since it's one of my favorite lenses. I recently purchased a new 50mm lens and I'm stoked on it, I'm looking forward to getting out to capture some new images. I picked up a diiferent version of the last 50mm lens I had, it's a faster lens so now I have a bit more to work with in the depth of field available.
This tractor was in the back of my dads house. I was there right after X Games so I was broken and trying to get out into the sunlight for a little while. My father has always had tractors and cars or trucks around the house since he's a mechanic. I liked the way the tractor was lit up and beat up.

Not far from my house is a Grainery that used to be a busy spot for rail cars to stop to pick up and drop off loads. Lemont was a busy spot for train transport... not so much anymore. Now the Grainery is a historic landmark and used to make haunted houses and other kids things throughout the year. The rail road tracks are still there, however they're overgrown by plants since nothing rolls through anymore. I'm planning to go back with a fresh snow soon, Tiff had the idea of trying to stand in the same location for all four season. I'll see if I can find the same spot next time and if I can I'll work on getting all four seasons here.

This location is pretty amazing. The stones we're standing with are representing the murdered Jews from the Holocaust in WW2. It's in downtown Berlin in a beautiful part of the city. There is a lot of history in the City that makes it interesting but eery at the same time. Clockwise from the bottom: Me, Mancuso, Eduardo, Coco.

So the truck shoot didn't happen since my truck never made it back to PA. Sucks since I wanted to practice a little automotive photography that Tito taught me a while back. Oh well. I did go for a walk near the the old house and shot a few photographs walking along the creek.

I'm hoping to get to try out some automotive photography with my recently completed truck. It's getting shipped back to State College soon but I'm not sure I'll be able to shoot it outdoor anytime soon since the weather is changing. I'll get some images posted soon but I'm not sure if I'll get the whole feature completed. Depends on my travels and the weather, I sure hope the weather is good since it's been so long since I've driven that truck.
All I have for now is a picture of the wheels that are being installed on my truck right now. More photos from SEMA to follow soon as well.

This is from driving around State College on the lookout for some random cool stuff to shoot. There is a barn close by, a large foundation to what seems like a large building or house but the only thing left standing among the pile of rubble is this single doorway. I brought Jared out here to shoot some head shots of me for an interview that should be out soon. I like the spot, it's different. I've just found a new location to shoot but now the problem is actually finding time to go shoot a few days in the good light. For now I'll have some riding photos and contest shots since that's where I'm going to be for the next few weeks straight.

I make up random photo projects
for myself and do my best to follow through with them while traveling
around to all the different comps. I have a few new ideas that I'm working
on but it may be a while till they're finished. Long term ideas. I'm
also working on a series of photos for www.VITALBMX.com,
a BMX community where riders can stay up to date with the industry and in touch with other riders.
I'll set up photo page on here
eventually but until then, check this page out for my photo's. By the way, I'm a little bit busy at the moment so even this photo page doesn't get updated often.
KagyCollection
until I get my photo project
posted I'm going to put random photos on here.
My brother and I the day we
won our first trophies.

This is not the best image as far as quality, it was shot from a point and shoot camera while driving by so don't nit pick the set up. This image is here to show you how nuts people get for a home football game, it's a college team and the students are camping in front of the stadium for an entire week just to get tickets. Where are these kind of fans when the Dew Tour and X Games happen?

Tiffany and I are building a new home right now, a few weeks ago I walked through it as the main floor was being constructed. One section of floor didn't have the plywood laid yet and the sunlight cast hard shadows on the inside of the basement walls. I like the contrast of colors here as well as the uniform lines.
